High Wycombe Gardenshare Scheme
- Worried about the rising cost of food?
- Concerned about what is put into our food by modern farming methods?
- Wonder why our food is moved backwards and forwards around the world, using valuable oil?
- Would like to take control of what you eat, and get fit while you are doing it?
Bare Gardens may be able to help!
If you have garden space you do not use, lend it to someone to grow food, in return for half the produce.
If you want somewhere to grow food, we will try to put you in touch with someone who wants to lend garden space.
Never grown food? Lend your garden to someone who has done it before, then when you feel confident, take over and do it yourself.
If there is not enough garden space available, we can ask the Council for more allotments to be provided. A group of six or more people wanting an allotment, have the right to contact the local authorities and ask for more land to be provided. There are currently over 150 people on waiting lists for allotments in High Wycombe. By contacting Bare Gardens you will be able to join with others to make a strong case for new allotment land to be provided. Alone we may not be very powerful, together we can do great things!
There are various garden-share schemes like this already flourishing in other parts of the country. Bare Gardens is your local scheme, and might be able to help you!
